Yoga for Yogi

About

Yoga for Yogi is an independent yoga reference and discovery site for people who want to understand what they are doing — not just copy a shape.

Why we built Yoga for Yogi

Yoga information online tends to fall into two extremes: beautiful but vague lifestyle content, or technical material that assumes you already know the vocabulary. We sit in the middle. Our aim is to make yoga easier to navigate, whether you are choosing your first class, comparing two styles, following a short home sequence or researching a 200-hour teacher training.

What you will find here

The site is organised as a reference library rather than an endless feed. Pose pages explain the building blocks. Style guides tell you what a class is actually likely to feel like. Sequences give you a clear practice order with modifications. Our teacher-training and retreat directories focus on the decision-making details that are easy to miss in promotional material.

How we approach yoga advice

There is no single “correct” body for a yoga pose and no one style that suits everybody. We avoid promising medical outcomes, treating flexibility as a score, or presenting a more advanced-looking posture as automatically better. Where a topic moves into diagnosis, injury treatment or individual medical advice, a qualified health professional is the appropriate source.

Independence and commercial relationships

Yoga for Yogi may earn money through advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships or clearly labelled featured listings. Commercial relationships do not buy an editorial recommendation. Where a link is an affiliate link or a placement is sponsored, we label it so you can tell the difference.
